The Ford F-Series is a series of Ford Motor Company-manufactured light-duty trucks and heavy-duty trucks. The F-series has been in production since 1948 and includes commercial vehicles, chassis cab trucks, and full-size pickup trucks. The F-series includes F-150 pickup, Class 3-5 Super Duty trucks, and the Class 6-8 Super Duty trucks as of 2019. Now in its 13th generation, Ford F150 is the most popular version of the F-Series.


History of the Ford F-150


Ford Bonus-Built was the first first-generation pickup truck from the F-Series. Since then, Ford has made a lot of improvements in the F-Series and has gained a large market share in the market.


-       The Ford F150 was introduced in 1975, in the sixth generation F-Series models, and has been in the market for over 43 years.

-       In 1983, F150 became the lightest pickup available in the market as the F-100 marked its final year.

-       Early in 1996, F150 became a contemporary vehicle for personal use with a radically streamlined body.

-       In 2001, the tenth generation F150 became the first pickup truck with four full-size doors.

-       The 2011 twelfth generation F150 model focused on fuel economy, and the entire engine line-up was updated.

-       In the 13th generation, the F150 became the first pickup truck to introduce adaptive cruise control.

-       A Powerstroke diesel engine was fitted to the F150 in 2018.
